Oddly, I had that song stuck in my head all morning. And only the opening bit too.

              • Jane St.Clair; also a founding member of AAAM says:

                That is odd…

I was thinking more along the lines of, “Who wants to live foreeeeeeeeeeeevvvvah? Who dares to love fooooooorrreeeeeeeeeeevvaaaaaaaah?!”

Cause, you know, some episodes you’d just kill the bad guy and you were like, sweet. Being an immortal fvcking rocks. But other times you had to kill someone you’d like for some reason or before you killed the bad guy they killed someone you liked and then at the end you’d get the above Queen song. Which I think we can all agree is pretty epic.

“Too Little Too Late” is a single from their 2000 album Maroon. The single included a remix of another single from Maroon, “Pinch Me”. The song made it on their 2001 compilation, Disc One: All Their Greatest Hits, was written by Ed Robertson and Steven Page, and was sung by Page.
The music video, directed by Phil Harder, is about the stresses of making a music video, in which the director forces them to record and re-record the video several times. At the end of the video, the director calls for a cut, and asks to record it again, prompting Page to scream. The screaming is not actually Steven’s voice. The actual video shoot was the band’s longest, lasting three days. It was filmed in the middle of a string of radio station promotional appearances.

  4. Nova says:

Look at the clothing they are wearing. Look at the background. Are you really stupid enough to think thats what a sweatshop looks like, or that sweatshop workers, being paid the equiv of 12 cents an hour can afford leather jackets??

  8. Thomas Jefferson says:

All hail Dictator for Life Obama ! And his henchm…er…associates Himmler…er..Pelosi, and Goering…er.. Rahm !!!!! Long live the USSA !

    • Churj says:

… Did you really just try compare Obama’s administration to the Nazis? I thought they were supposed to be communist? If that’s the case, the names you’re looking for should be Stalin, Kalinin, and Beria. Mind you, those comparisons don’t really fit either.
Oh, and Dictator for Life… do you mean Gaius Julius Ceasar, Augustus, Nero, Hadrian, or some other particular Roman emperor? That’s sort of where the title “Dictator for Life” originated.

On the brightside, at least everybody can rest assured that somehow Obama has managed to combine 3 completely different forms of government into a single one headed by himself (of course with the disguise of democracy).

      • Churj says:

And where’s boober… I’m sure he could come take a lesson from our friend Jefferson here.

      • Default User says:

Oooh! Hadrian! Let it be Hadrian! He built that wall! It was so cool! *jumps up and down excitedly*

      • The Amazing Rando says:

Not only is Obama not likely to be dictator for life, but at the rate that he’s pissing off people on both sides of the aisle, he’s not likely to win a 2nd freaking term.

        • Churj says:

He threatened to get rid of NAFTA, he introduced protectionist measures (Ie. “Buy American” provisions), and he’s cut back scientific research funding to the bone. I won’t necessarily miss him if he goes.
But after today’s vote we all here at PK better prepare for a hail of trolls (from both sides)… and I thought I’d start countering them with logic and condescension (Us Canucks suck at the whole direct attacks thing)!

          • Default User says:

You could try smothering them to death with politeness. ;)

          • mabsba says:

I wouldn’t mind disposing of the Mexican part of NAFTA. Free trade with a third world country is stupid. Canada’s different. You all don’t legally pay your employees $5 a week.

          • The Amazing Rando says:

It’s already started. And yes, tomorrow, once people wake up and start frothing, it’ll get totally out of control. And I figure at least a few of our regulars are gonna get pretty frothy too.

            • froofrou says:

              *froth froth*

              • The Amazing Rando says:

Here’s one of them now. ;)

                • dissimilitude says:

Ooh, can I get some froth over here? I was just thinking about a latte…

                • I Like Peanut Butter the Conservatvie With a Heart. Now STFU!!! says:

I’m frothing, seething PO’d….. but then again I’m an ebil conservative who wants poor people to die……

PS we’re in two wars and Obama just cut defense spedning (RnD funding by 60%, SCN Navy Surface Combatant funding by 35%) by planning to suffle DoD Spending (which is Constitutionally Mandated) for the Health Care, which I still am looking for someone to prove the Constitutionality of Health Care to me. I think I’ll wait a LONG time for that one too.

                  • froofrou says:

35 states plan on checking that out through a lawsuit, last I heard.

                  • The Amazing Rando says:

Wow, now THERE’S a surprise. Look, I’m not thrilled with the health care bill either, but I’m sure it’s for different reasons. You think it goes way too far. I don’t think it does nearly enough.

            • Oscar the Mild says:

Andy however, is going to get a stomach ache

              • Default User says:

Maybe I should call him fat again, just to keep him from over eating tomorrow. He may thank me for it later.

            • Smurf says:

Frothy? It could be rabies. Try pithy.

        • Smurf says:

Dear The Amazed Rando. It sounds like you won’t be voting for a second Obama term. Why don’t you run yourself, on a LOL ticket?

    • The Amazing Rando says:

You made the baby Godwin cry.
      Quit your whining.

    • Cynical-Vegemite says:

Looks like Americans at least will live longer now that the lower house has passed Obama’s health plan.

Long life in the USSA :P

      • Teaparty Pissant says:

Yes, America is well and truly doomed, now that it’s taken the first step to joining Canada and Europe (those ROTTEN EVIL BASTARDS) in providing health care for its needy.

        Doooooooooooooooomed.

        • froofrou says:

“providing health care INSURANCE for the needy, who already have healthcare because the ER can’t turn anyone away. So the needy will be forced to buy something they can’t afford anyway, but will be subsidized by taxing the rich, who will eventually get tired of it and leave the country.”

          There, fixed that for you.

          • I Like Peanut Butter the Conservatvie With a Heart. Now STFU!!! says:

I just felt myself get poorer….. ahh the joys of Democrats who don’t listen. Too bad they don’t realize they JUST lost the House in 2010. It’s said when a major sweeping “Change” Bill is coerced into passage. 2/3rds… meh we’ll just make it simply majority b/c we don’t even have enough votes within our own party….. We’ll ignore the American public, b/c well, we know what’s best for them. Remember hte democrats version of rich is “Do you have a job?” Yes, “Do you make minimum wage?” Yes, “You’re rich, unless you’re a congress person, then we’re exempt from the taxes we’re about to enact.”

You realize my wife will now make less money at the end of Obama’s term, than she did at the beginning of his term. That’s progress for you. (1.5 % pay raise, yet a minimum 3.0% tax increase to pay for this bill)……. Brilliant way to stimulate teh economy there Buckaroo Banzai!!!

            • froofrou says:

              It’s not a tax increase. It’s a “premium” increase. Geez….

              • I Like Peanut Butter the Conservatvie With a Heart. Now STFU!!! says:

UMMM really? Hey did you know that the government can force you to have health insurance constiutionaly…. I’m still looking but I can’t find it….

            • dissimilitude says:

That’s ok, I’m making effectively less money this year, too. No salary increase, but this year my insurance has a new $1000 deductible. I suspect before the end of the year they’ll find a way to increase my taxes, too. Thanks!

            • paws4thot says:

Reps voted for, so more than 50% there (not sure of exact numbers), 59 / 100 Senate in favour, and better than 50% of the people voted for the presedent, and this is still undemocratic!?

              • I Like Peanut Butter the Conservatvie With a Heart. Now STFU!!! says:

Major Bills need to be passed using 2/3rds of the House. Since the Democrats KNEW they didn’t have the votes, they decided to do back door way, let’s make it part of a Budget Bill and therefore we only need the majority vote.

The Vote in the House was: 219 For (all Democrats)
                212 Against (Republicans, Democrats).
I never said it was undemocratic (if anything it’s purely Democratic… wink wink), but it certainly wasn’t the will of the people. Also you can NOT equate the vote for Obama into office was a vote for Health Care, it’s THAT attitude that just lost the Democrats control of the house, and eventually the control of the government. “Well you voted for me, so you must agree with 100% of what I want.” Is a BS attitude and one that can not work in a two party system. I vote Republican most the time, doesn’t mean I’m agaisnt Gay marriage, pro-life, or pro-Limbaugh… it’s that I’m against bs like this Health Care Bill, the BS in defense spending cuts, the BS of “I know what’s better for you than you do.” (and yes that’s the Democrats motto right now).

                • Churj says:

Please don’t take this too seriously, it’s merely an observation… but it seems to me that this bill isn’t really that major of a thing either way. The private health care industry will still exist and still be the predominant source of insurance. Now there’s just an opportunity for the poor to get insurance (and from what I gather, this is only costing the average taxpayer in the USA $28 / year).
I understand that an ER can’t turn anybody away, but the fact that many people would be economically ruined by the bills does. On top of that, treatment is refused for patients with chronic diseases (such as HIV, diabetes, cancer, pancreatitis, etc) if they don’t have insurance… and all of those are just as deadly as getting hit by a car.
I understand that things are different in the USA, and that what works one place doesn’t always work in others… but every other 1st world nation on Earth has successfully implemented public healthcare of some form… it seems absurd to think that what is often regarded as one of the leading nations on Earth can’t find a way to make it work.

                  • Churj says:

The other thing is that with such heated debate about the viability of this health care reform… the best option, it seems to me, is to give it a trial by fire. Run the program for one year, see how it turns out, and then re-evaluate once some results are in.

                    • I Like Peanut Butter the Conservatvie With a Heart. Now STFU!!! says:

You don’t know our Government. Social Security was supposed to be temmporary until the Economy Recovered from the Great Depression, OOPS! Once it’s implemented it never goes away…. especially if it hands power to the government.

                  • I Like Peanut Butter the Conservatvie With a Heart. Now STFU!!! says:

Churj: The Bill is a mjor undertaking, the $28 estimate from Mr. Obama and his people is extremely low bid. Many other economists believe that it will likely cost Americans much more (3% More Income tax on the “Rich”, now households making $150K or more, down from individual making $250K, so anticipation of those households making more than $100K is likely.) Or severe cuts from other programs will be needed (Democrats tend to favor Intelligence and Defense as unnecsary budget items). Also Americans, and businesses love the term “free”. Why spend more money when the government will provide, which is what will happen. So as more and more people realize they can get helath care cheaper, or small comapnies realize the government will cover it, then so be it, the government will cover it. Not to mention the wonderful area that companies with payrolls bigger than $500K must provide Health Care to their employees. Where do you think that cost will be pushed onto, the consumer. Therefore not only will I likely get taxed more, but things will cost more for me as well. How is that good for a failing economy?

What seems absurd to me, is how this could be substantiated Constitutionally?

                    • Wino says:

                      What is unconstitutional about it?

                      • I Like Peanut Butter the Conservatvie With a Heart. Now STFU!!! says:

What is constitutional about it? Where does it say in the Constitution the Congress has the right to levy taxes to pay for Health Care? I see stuff about national defense, Post Office, Postal roads, interstate commerce, but nothing about Health Care….

                        • Wino says:

I think it falls under that whole every bill passed by Congress, not vetoed by the President becomes law section.

Seriously, what about this bill would be outlawed under the Constitution.

                        • froofrou says:

The part where the government is requiring a purchase of goods or services by every American. That’s not allowed.

                        • Justacarolinian says:

Wino, be sure to look up enumerated powers.

                        • Wino says:

If you seriously believe that the enumerated powers argument is going to bring down this health care reform, then I would expect that to apply to really almost everything Congress has done in the last 70-80 years.

                        • The Amazing Rando says:

So because the founding fathers couldn’t have seen the need for health care reform 200+ years in the future, we’re never allowed to have health care reform?

                        • froofrou says:

If dying from malaria and milk fever weren’t enough to get the Founders thinking that the gov’t needed to regulate health care, then the sniffles sure ain’t.

                        • dissimilitude says:

Good grief, can you imagine government health care circa 1785 or so?

“Well, Mr. Jenkins, we’ll have to have you fill out four copies of these forms with your quill pen — you can read and write? — ok, and then it looks as if you’re going to be eligible for, um, 3 leeches per month and…one unanesthetized amputation.”

                        • I Like Peanut Butter the Conservatvie With a Heart. Now STFU!!! says:

Wino: Since Congress can only levy tax for specific purposes, and the government will have to raise taxes to pay for said Bill, I’m looking for the lvying taxes to pay for Health Care. **fifth time through and nothing**

                    • dissimilitude says:

Actually, it’s must “offer” health insurance to the employees. As in “Oh, here’s the enrollment paperwork for the insurance that costs about 75% of your takehome pay…..PAY for any of it for you?!? Bwahahahahahaha! Good one.”
