WELL, DUH!

I don’t know if it’s quite dead, but beavers are a lot less furry these days than they used to be.
snerk and blushes LMFHO
I don’t know about the ones you’ve seen lately but mine is definitely alive and well. Would you like to pet it?
You know I would, you temptress you.
Is that an open offer DU, only it is part of my field of specialism here?
Oy, I get first dibs!
I only asked if it was an open offer.
You can pet my beaver, paws. She doesn’t bite, I promise.
[back-cuddles Nucky, stroking her beaver with one hand, and fondling a boobie with the other. Starts kissing her neck.]
You know, if you reach behind you, I think there’s something you can play with in reach too.
*reaches behind her* Happy to see me, paws? *giggles*
Always babe, always. and getting happier as we speak.
You know what; I’d really like to be the one who gets your beaver mounted and stuffed, in that order!
PETA has a point. We should give up fur.
Problem is, they use such unsavory tactics and nutball spokespeople, the message is getting lost.
If you’re concerned about animals, I hope you also don’t wear any leather (belt, shoes, coat; suede counts).
there is a difference though, they kill the animals for the fur whereas the leater belts are made from the skin of animals that were killed for food production.
Not always, how many people actually eat alligator or snake? Do you still wear their skins? The leather and fur industries are huge, and not all the animals are being used for food.
Before anyone starts in, I do happen to wear fur and leather, I enjoy doing so, but I also do by making informed decisions about who I get it from. I buy fur from falconers. The birds have to eat, and sometimes the falconer is nice enough to take the fur out of birdie’s diet. I also buy from local hunters who I know for a fact eat whatever they kill (and are sometimes willing to share the meat too)
I think most people mean cow hide when they say leather. That’s what most leather goods are made of. The others are usually referred to by the animal of origin, eg, snakeskin or ostrich skin, mostly because they are more expensive so the manufacturer wants to emphasize that it’s not cow hide.
But it is important to look at the source of the materials. Interestingly enough, although many Americans who are against using fur because it usually comes from animals raised or trapped for that use alone, there was a huge uproar when it was discovered here (in the US) that some fancy, high-end clothes made in China had fur trim from dogs. I pretty sure the dogs were eaten in China, but since we don’t eat them here, it was not acceptable here.
And people had a problem with Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs for wearing human skin. Though I think that was b/c he didn’t eat it. So are we ok with Leather Face’s mask then?
I don’t eat alligator or snake very often, but that’s due to supply issues rather than lack of inclination to do so.
rabbits are raised for food. — fur
in parts of the world cats seem to be on the menu (whether the customer knows it or not)
Try China Town, NYC.
There are rumours about that happening in more or less every nation where Cantonese cuisine is commonplace. I’m dubious, because:-
1) There’s not actually much meat on a cat; after all a big cat only weighs about 16lb, and the median is more like 11lb if you exclude Maine Coons.
2) Carnivore meat is very strong tasted, and I think people would notice that it wasn’t what it was claimed to be, even if they didn’t know what it was.
Actually rat/ cat and dog, have all been found in some resturaunts due to how it is cooked/ seasoned.
Paws you also forget about the stray animal concerns in NYC, when it’s free, it’s free.
I didn’t mean “this never happens”; just “this doesn’t happen half as often as some people try and make out”.
While in India they do not eat beef they do raise cattle for leather products. Since they are not after the meat the cattle tends to be remarkably malnourished.
*thrown, sorry internet
Wow. Did you get those “facts” from PETA’s website or something? They sound oh so believable…
Does it feel safe in your bubble?
How do you think they’re killed, then? Lethal injection while they’re asleep? Cute.
Bolt-gun to the brain, environment designed to limit stress to the animals by a specialist. Yes, I have read Temple Grandin.
But the animal’s pain and sorrow is what makes the fur look so nice!
I am concerned about the questionable tactics and unsavory people employed by PETA.
There is a big difference between fur and leather, in source, acquisition and production.
Wait if they are drowned, how are they then skinned alive? Do the people do first aid, and revive the animal before skinning it?
Also I’m guessing you aren’t a hunter? It’s narely impossible to skin an animal alive, even one that’s “unconcious”, as they will have many many involuntary muscle twitches, which would cause you to ruin the fur/ skin. But I must say you do get an “A” for drama.
Ah, the order was backwards. They are skinned alive and then drowned. Obviously.
i said this before but it wouldnt go through, the animals just go unconcious and often wake up >.>
why doesn’t she just come straight out and say she shaves below the equator?
Not this picture again. C’mon, we need more original pictures than this. The Welcome to Israel pic is a nice start.
Also a repeat.
Yes, I think with close to the same caption….it’s like deja vu all over again!
Deja Moo. That’s when you experience the same Bull Crap all over again.
That’s redundant diss, my dear.
There there. Will a hug make it better?
Hmmm. Yeah.
*big bear hug* *sneaks in a smooch below her ear*
meat is delicious
Wow, you’re totally clever and hilarious. Nobody has EVER said this in response to a PETA slogan. Next thing you know, someone will point out PETA stands for People Eating Tasty Animals. You guys are so brilliant! How are you not writing for sitcoms?
Alright, here’s one. “PETA: They’re kinda like Animal Nazis. Brought to you by Daddy’s Credit Card.”
Or maybe “PETA: We kill pets so you don’t have to.” Or how about “PETA: We think dead chickens are more tragic than The Holocaust.”
Simple fact is that PETA exists to take money from well-meaning but thoughtless individuals who believe their organization exists to help animals, when all it really exists to do is sensationalize a very narrow and extreme viewpoint and make a nice profit from it.
Sorry you were too ignorant to realize that, but the sooner you stop being a tool and maybe support a group that actually HELPS animals, the better your life will be.
Who said I support PETA? I said old joke is old.
Yeah, well, that meme is old. Get a new one.
See how annoying it is when people come in doing that?
I swear, some people’s children…
You let yourself get trolled. At least try to be graceful about it.
I like to think it stands for: people for euthanizing the animals
Looks like sarongs on this particular catwalk, not fur. Maybe she picked the wrong show.
the designer uses fur
And? If you can find a designer who has never used fur, leather (lots of couture [sp] grade leather comes from cattle bred primarily for leather, not food) or suede, then there might be a point in protesting one who isn’t.
For what it’s worth, that’s what I’ve always wondered about this image. If there’s no fur in the show, than it’s kind of pointless to protest in THAT show in my opinion.
Yes, fur is dead. So is meat. I eat meat. It’s delicious. I also wear leather shoes and own a rabbit fur-lined winter hat. My only rule is that I won’t wear any animal that I wouldn’t also enjoy eating.
Also, PETA kills animals. Often inhumanely, and their founder relies on animal testing for her insulin. Being activists for animals is one thing, and I’m fine with it. Being crazy hypocrites is another, and I am NOT fine with it.
Yeah, it was ridiculous that they wanted the abandoned polar bear cub Knut to be killed because keeping it in captivity would be cruel. They are endangered, killing it would be the cruel thing to do! I really do hate Peta.
Yea, duh… So is everything she is wearing. Technically all plants are living so when they use, cotton for example, they’re killing something…. crazy when you think about how everything you touch is basically a dead thing…
*pops another sunflower seed in her mouth* Huh…whu? OMG I just ate a sunflower fetus! NOoooooooo!
YEAH
and it’s been shown that plants also experience pain though their responses to it are slightly different to us animals, let me prove it…
At its base, pain can be viewed as a warning to the organism that experiences it, that it’s life and/or ability to propagate its genetic heritage is under threat. It can be argued that organisms are essentially “DNA’s way of making more DNA.” Virtually ALL organisms have sensory mechanisms that are aimed at warning the individual of threats to life and/or reproduction, thus, while plants probably can’t “feel pain” (as defined in human dictionaries), plants can certainly sense their environment and react in ways that are clearly intended to minimize threats to life and/or reproduction: threats that humans could interpret as painful. In other words, whatever one chooses to call it, plants certainly experience the *functional equivalent* of that which we humans call “pain”, as do essentially all other organisms.
Dear PeTA: Any legitimate point you make from here on out is fully eclipsed by the douchey, idiotic methods you use to convey them. GTFO the damn stage.
What’s PETA;s policy on furries and yiff?
Just make your tails out of synthetics (you do realize most plastic is made from oil, right?) so as not to kill a real animal, and they don’t care if you dress in a full grizzly costume.
No idea about PETA’s position on them, but mine is “are they legal, cute, female, and single or in open relationships”?
seems like they hired captain obvious
that seems to be the best way to put it.
Ever notice that PETA will get all up in arms about fur or leather or animals in zoos, but you never see a demonstration when drunk college kids are ordering White Castles by the truckload. The majority of our society likes dead animals in some form or another. Get over it.
I’d bet you won’t see her go into a biker bar with a “Leather is Dead” sign.
On second thought, I’d kinda like to see that.
Nah, won’t happen. Dumping fake blood on little old ladies with a fur scarf is all they are brave enough for.
*giggles* It’s fun that you think that.
it might cause leather comes form cows etc which you eat anyway and not animals which remains are thrown aways if skinned
I am against fur, but this made me LOL.
i was kind of hoping, everyone in here is
They are not even wearing fur, and this girl looks like just another brain washed worker bee…
What gets me is that a couple of years ago (2006 or 2007 I think) Peta’s Norfolk Va branch almost got it’s business relisted as a Slaughterhouse because of how many animals they euthanized. So I have no empathy with this particular group. I do wear leather, but not fur. I do eat meat, but do not condone hunting simply to hunt. All things in moderation…
FCK PETA
LONG LIFE TO BULLFIGHT
old lame joke lame
Well she’s hotter than the models. I wonder if she shaves her armpits….man I hope not…..those dirty hippie chicks are hot…
Yes fur is dead…but so is the tree that sign is made of and the cotton plants their clothes are.
God PETA is so stupid
You should see some of the sh1t they come out with these days
I know, lol! Problem is, they’ve brainwashed themselves into seeing animal cruelty everywhere. Worse, they have no clue that the human species is comprised of omnivores, not herbivores. They think they’re so “enlightened” to dictate to the rest of the world what’s “wrong”. Oh wait, that’s Fascism that we fought against in WW1. Can you tell the difference? In Fascist Italy they waged war (let you know they declared war, then fought). In Fascist PETA they wage terrorism (stabbed you in the back, then took credit to declare war).
it was WW2 or WW3
SAVE THE SEA KITTENS! (see link)
I just really love the expression on her face in this photo.
And yes, I’ve been a vegetarian for 18 years. And I sometimes use leather products when that’s the best choice for sustainability and feed my carnivore cats meat laden cat-food. Basically what I’m saying is, extremism is dumb.
Comic Sans?
Okay… How do people keep managing to sneak their bigass signs into these fashion shows?
Gotta say, love the model’s expression in front. It’s like she’s trying to keep a straight, sexy face, but her eyebrows are totally screaming “What the heck is up with this nutty lady?”
Scrawny PETA person who was probably deprived of meat in their diet by parents beliefs….
On the other hand those models probably sleep on traction ‘racks’ to get that tall….
she should bring paint instead the sign or whale semen to ruin it.
Ugh, furries.. if there’s photo they can desecrate with their comments and sexting, they will find it.
don’t be hatin’ on the peta!!!!they support animal rights!!!do you guys think animals are just beings of nothing more than food????well too bad, they are. they’re beings of true beauty and power, and we could all take a lesson from them.that lesson??? worry about yourself, fend for yourself, and live by the only rule:treat others as you would be treated. LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!!!!!!peta2.org
I saw a Zebra the other day with a PETA sign on his backside. The lion that ate him wasn’t a member.
Mmmm…animals are tasty. Tasty tasty tasty.
So a masochist can torture animals?
And your post confirms my theory. Using more than one question mark / exclamation point is a clear sign of insanity.
And PETA is an organisation that not only kills the animals it “saves”, it also funds and supports terrorists that burn down buildings etc. Actually, there was a good “Penn & Teller’s Bullsh!t” episode on that one.
Can I just say, although I support animal rights heavily, blah blah blah… The protestor is actualy hotter than the models! o.O …Shorter, but way hotter. …Just sayin’.
It’s hard to tell from the picture, but she does look like she’s pretty cute.
