Not that there’s a problem, mind you…but you may want to cash that thing real fast.

“I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”
But seriously, does anyone know whether this caption is apropos of anything at all other than generic FUD?
I think it has to do with as I typed this our debt went up almost $10 million dollars. And we need instead of spending like Paris Hilton on spring break, we should probably cut back on some wasted spending. Trim the fat so to speak.
Oh….I like peanut butter with bacon, too!
Oh yeah, and um…it’s just a good idea not to spend money you don’t have.
I have no issues with trimming the fat. God knows how much money we’d save if government programs were run more efficiently. Someone should get on that.
We’ll have a committee discuss the relevancy of forming a delegation to think about assembling a task force to determine how much power we want to give to a ministry who politely ask the different departments to cut back.
I thought that was a dot fvckingdie, not dot com.
DIE IN HELL SPAMMER!
…now, you see people, this is exactly what..a prime example of what I’m talkin’ about…about a vocal group of people ( some of them who may think they have good intentions, but they haven’t thought-it-through ) trying to interrupt the “chain of information” that down-on-their-luck folks use in their daily decisions: true, some of them life-or-death decisions, but more-often-than-not these are the sort of things people have-to-work-through-for-themselves without the advice of everybody in earshot who wants to make a remark as they pass-on-by instead of offering out a helping hand…it’s in these daily choices that people can-take-control-of-their-lives even in these trying-economic-times and make-headway-into-what-for-some-was-unthinkable-less-than-a-generation-ago.
The American welfare system…it’s with this good that the people elected by you American citizens can give back what they take. It’s strange that those who call out for smaller government…”let’s have a smaller government”…”let’s have less American government”…”let’s have a little less interference from our government”…also want to tell you how you should be spending your money. It’s this kind of old-guard lynch-mob mentality that truly keeps us in the dark ages and keeps the future youth/the progeny of these chatrooms from collecting what’s rightfully theirs. Thank you…
Dude, dollar bills are not *that* different from a written check from the US treasury. If the treasury fails, the dollar fails.
Before Obama starts the Weimar Republic Redux.
I have German postage stamps from that time that are for 4 BILLION marks.
Obama is going the same path — printing more money and destroying the value of peoples life savings (just what the leftist doctor ordered..).
yawn.
Yes, yawn.
Wait until you have to cash your pay check the day you get it because by the next day it will be worth half as much. But you dont care….
I hope you are still yawning when you paycheck/welfare check stops, your bank account is inaccessible (if you even have one), when you have to line up for 4 hours to get a bowl of food.
You sound like one of those people who will deserve that fate.
But then you will be yawning also when Obama is thrown out of office and someone else has to dig our country out of the mess that Obama and his cronies have caused.
When people ask who is to blame I will ‘yawn’ and point at people like you who will be put at the back of the line.
Santayana says you FAIL
You’re a laugh riot.
Small problem here: the economy is tanking and unemployment is rising precisely *because* we have a mass delusion about “bond vigilantes” coming to claim government debt and destroy the Treasury. But with long term bond interest rates lower than ever and *sinking*, and with inflation spiralling downward toward *deflation*, and with all the countries that attempted austerity tanking (Ireland, Spain) and the countries that used massive stimulus spending doing amazingly well (Iceland, bear in mind it *was* the worst of everyone, now it’s on top of Spain, Estonia, and Ireland which were barely hit by the crisis)… it’s vital that we have more government stimulus spending in the short run and increase unemployment benefits. Then, in the long run, once the economy is back in shape, we can return to austerity.
And yes, you *should* spend that check right away, consumer spending will revamp the economy.
Maybe you should tell the British “Government” that. They are currently trying to cut back on everything, even healthcare, whereas before the old Government put us a foot before the cliff edge, the present “Government” is pushing us nearer the cliff edge with the possibility of falling down it. (It’s already starting selling off the family silver again as the “Queen” is considering selling off part of Regent Street which is owned by the Crown Estate (i.e. the Government))
That’s arguable; it’s obvious that the budget has to be cut, because presently we can’t just rely on fiscal drag to increase revenue.
The only debating point is whether or not cutting spending now will put the economy back into recession.
I certainly agree deficits and budgets are bad, but I don’t agree that any spending cut now is good. Spending on redundancies can be cut, but unemployment benefits, social security, and healthcare are anything but. We need to get the economy back on track with some stimulus spending to the lowest classes, then we can balance the budget, then hopefully learn from our mistakes.
Sad, yet true
