1. Slick Willie says:

Oh no! The obamabots have organized!!!

• BonkBonkOnTheHead says:

Arent rats afraid of fire???

• Cat Woman says:

You two are wrong in soooo many ways.

Believe me.
I know a few things about… ahem… turning up the heat on a Rat.

*postures strikingly with aloof disdain*

• I Like Peanut Butter but not Obama says:

Yeah, you put the rat on a mans stomach and put a metal bucket over the rat and start heating up the bucket. The only place for the rat to go is through the stomach. NOW THAT is torture!

• Squiggly says:

*horrified look*

Thanks ILPB, my nightmares weren’t quite terrifying enough but now they will be.

• Nelson says:

Is this a technique that is actually used? I’ve kept pet rats off and on for 20something years. I can’t imagine a rat effectively burrowing thru a mans abdomen, even under the duress of being under a progressively hotter and hotter bucket. The bucket would get hot enough to seriously burn the man, and the rat would die of heat stroke before it could do much damage. …It wouldn’t surprise me if the gov’t employs sick f***s to think up stuff like this, though – effective or not. Someone would have to be truly demented and sociopathic to come up with something like this!

• Tarik says:

Now you reminded me of a movie where they were pulling a stunt like that one, allthough i don’t remember the name.

2. pizmokitty says:

I thought they were republicans.

• Dave says:

No No, see the blank face, the souless gaze? The instep following behaviour, def Democrats.

• Cyber_Controller says:

I don’t know. If the Republican’s manage to “Win” American Politics forever, this could be their government we’re seeing.

Also, does anyone get the feeling that this lol is intended to be ambiguous enough to avoid tagging onto any one party, yet partisan enough to deliberately start a flame war.

• Chrysoprase says:

That must be the reason why the Dems have a reputation of being as organized as a coop of headless chickens. What with the impressive capacity to stay on message and vote as a block.

• The Amazing Rando says:

HEY! That’s not…okay that’s pretty well true.

• Philip says:

The reason for that by the way is because progression can go several ways, but conservation only needs to do one thing. Therefore it’s easy to form a massive bloc on conservatism, but pretty much impossible to get progressives to do the same.

• BonkBonkOnTheHead says:

Heh heh….

Block Block Block go the party of the ‘Chicken Crap’

• Nelson says:

Oh… Yeah. This is a laugh! If Democrats were capable of marching in lockstep they might have actually accomplished something while they had a majority.

• Cyber_Controller says:

Yeah. Filibusters are a real cramp on getting things accomplished, right?

• Arnolds mom says:

I thought they had a filibuster proof majority? There was supposedly no stopping them. They could not agree within their own ranks was the real problem. I’m not sure the Republicans would do any better if they had the same powerful majority.

• I Like Peanut Butter but not Obama says:

For the first 6 months that was true, but after that due to scandal and illness they lost that Supermajority in both the House and Senate. But you are correct that the first 6 motnhs it was all in-fighting.

• Philly Mom says:

Was anyone surprised?
The Democrats happen to be a catch-all group consisting of green-energy folks to urban renewal folks to civil-rights to pacifists…

And, there’s a fair share of moderate Democrats who are just disgusted by GOP’s Power-Mongering platform of Social Conservatism. Yuck.

THEN – even if we agree that something needs to be done, no one can agree HOW it should be done.

Democrats are pretty Diverse.

And THAT’s why the cartoon reflects what will happen if the GOP re-gains control!!!

3. Nailin Palin says:

Sarah Palin Uber Alles!

4. Squiggly says:

Does anyone know where this actually is?

5. Alex says:

hyperbole much?

• kent says:

No, we’ll totally be rounding our citizens up and killing them in the millions within 3 years.

Totally not hyperbole… until 2013 passes and nothing happens. Then we start pushing it back to 2015.

But that’s all assuming the world doesn’t end in 2012, which is actually about as likely as the US becoming like Nazi Germany.

• kurisu7885 says:

People keep assuming Obama is already in the process of making it that way.

I hate conspiracy theorists.

• Uber Turret says:

Obama is good… he is helping

But since it’s already screwed up so much, he can’t help much.

As i said, re-revolution back to britain

• kurisu7885 says:

I wouldn’t say go back to British rule personally, but the Republicans seriously need to stop being in the way just because they want the president to fail. This isn’t about them

• mgilsmithe says:

Funny wasnt Obama the one who called for ‘brown shirts’ to be created with as much military power as the US military????

And he promised to ‘Change America’ ???

Hmmm who else used to talk like that ???

Hint —- begins with an ‘H’

• Sionnach says:

Go back to your cave. HR 1388 had nothing to do with your supposed ‘brown shirts’ and was passed by both parties in the house and the senate.

http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/barackobama/a/hr_1388_hamas_resettlement.htm

• SpeakerTo Animals says:

“government-supported volunteers” yeah thats how brown-shirts were paid too.

Who do you think would get to decide who got this ‘funding’ and what litmus test would have to be passed. (All gov student loans were Federalized as part of Obamacare bill — all part of same agenda)

The Nazi party did exactly the same thing to co-opt people into being in their party.

• kurisu7885 says:

Sooo, making sure people can get educated is a bad thing?

• Vila Restal says:

Actually most Brownshirts were indoctrinated into the army. This is an easy way of getting round arms reductions in troop strength. How Hitler did it was to take the people who were on the conscripted work parties and since they were used to training by marching up and down with spades and whatever. It was an easy job to transfer these people to the Army where instead of spades they could march with real guns. Same thing with the Brownshirts. (And the reason why all the groups in Hitlers Germany did a lot of Military type activities) Once a group has been given a military mindset, even if it is a civillian group, it is quite easy for someone in charge to subvert the group and turn them into real soldiers.

6. Sionnach says:

11 coments in and it’s already getting warm in here. *sits down in big comfy chair facing the flame war and get’s ready for a good show.*

7. Prophetica Insipia says:

The closing ceremonies at the Palin-Youth rallies are truly something to behold.

8. kent says:

Absolutely retarded. The fact that someone could find this to be even remotely witty, let alone reflecting of reality, is just hilarious in and of itself.

But knowing the primary user base of this website, they voted it up the moment the moment they saw it. Given the high volume of anti-American idiots that frequent this site, a picture of nothing more than US flag with a caption reading “lol america sucks” would instantly hit the front page.

Anti-Americanism is the new opiate for the masses. No matter how stupid, baseless, hypocritical, and gratuitous the US-bashing, it will always appeal to a large audience.

• Cyber_Controller says:

“But knowing the primary user base of this website, they voted it up the moment the moment they saw it. Given the high volume of anti-American idiots that frequent this site, a picture of nothing more than US flag with a caption reading “lol america sucks” would instantly hit the front page. ”

This is an interesting statement. Let’s make it a challenge!

Someone has to make a lol of an American flag with the caption mentioned here. If it makes the front page, then the person who made the lol will get +100 internets.

Anyone want to take it up?

• Naliord, Terror of the Testudines says:

Kent, you’re ABSOLUTELY right. Instead, we should focus on well-based, straightforward good wholesome gratuitous Kent-bashing!

• Nimeth says:

Lol, that actually made me laugh Naliord.

Maybe it’s just me, but I read the picture and caption as a bit of a swipe at the crazies on both sides of the fence who seem to be dominating most of the political speech in the US recently.

Anti-American? That’s a pretty big stretch there.

• Roy says:

Is bashing people you disagree with how you normally react? How civil.

• Squiggly says:

Votes don’t matter anymore, unfortunately. So I stopped voting on the L0Ls.

I certainly wouldn’t have voted for this hunk of sh!t, it’s not even funny.

• kurisu7885 says:

Learn to take a joke about the country you live in.

• jasonxmichael says:

kent, you pretty much just wrote what everyone already knows. The ones who revel in it will deny it, drool on their shoes, and type out more unfunny tripe to stoke their politcial or xenophobic agenda, but yes, it absolutely exists. Only a fool or a liar would pretend otherwise.

• The Amazing Rando says:

I was on my way to my local America Sucks Mart to buy more American flag TP but I realized the house was getting a little chilly so I made sure to throw a few more flags on the fire. I also need to pick up a new George Washington floor mat for the front porch. It’s fun wiping my feet on him.

• Chaplaine says:

Wait… this isn’t for our safety?

9. Rae says:

Helmets, torches, the blank expressions of people incapable of thinking for themselves, the overall Fascist aura…yes, these are definitely the supporters of a Republican administration.

10. Keith says:

there will be no 2013 cause inka zombies will bring da Apocalype to us!!

BE AFRAID!!!!!!!!!!

also if then we worship a huge Clinton monument with our long phallic torches.

• Vikavid says:

Interesting side note… I was recently by one of the (many) cemeteries here in Queens and I noticed that the barbed wire on the top of the fence was slanted in toward the plots, as though the caretakers were trying to keep people in. Just thought it strange.

• MrsQ: Philly Mom says:

New Yorkers can be truly dangerous — even from beyond the grave…

• Sionnach says:

Definatly not the city I want to be in when the Zombipocalypse comes.

• Squiggly says:

I don’t want to be in any city when the Zombipocalypse happens. Lots of people means lots of potential zombies.

• Sionnach says:

That’s the good thing about Vancouver, it’s a city but it’s easy enough to get a smell boat and get out to noe of the small islands off the coast.

• Tormoal says:

small islands want protect you. get a houseboat.

• Vikavid says:

Will the USS Intrepid work?

• Paws4thot says:

How “moored” is she? Do her engines still run? Does she still have bunker fuel on board? (Avgas and Avtur not so important)

• Inrock says:

If you have enough explosives you could blow lines of buildings up to create a rubble wall, the sewers are still tricky to find a solution.

• Vikavid says:

A harder solution, and what makes this city dangerous in that situation, is the subway tunnels. So many, a number go under rivers, and not all can easily be blocked. Plus, the subway system is just the first level of many tunnels under the city.

• Vikavid says:

Well, she just recently (within a year) got back from being overhauled. I’m not sure what shape her engines are in, or the fuel reserves, but with her size just cutting away the gangway would make it difficult to board her. Even from her mooring lines.

• Vikavid says:

Hey, New York City is nothing but islands (except the Bronx, they’re on the mainland). We’ve got a ton of boats…. and ships, including square riggers and schooners.

• Sionnach says:

Ahh but the islands in the straight of Georgia (piece of ocean between the British Columbia mainland and Vancouver Island) are mostly uninhabited and eminently farmable with very deep very cold streaches of water between them.

• Vikavid says:

I’ve got several plans, one of which entails holing up inside the Federal Reserve building in Lower Manhattan. Probably the closest thing to a real castle that the US has.

• Inrock says:

Fort knox you forget.

• Sionnach says:

Sounds like a good way of waiting out the initial infection.

BTW what is the flag you’re sporting? It looks like a variation of the Second Vermont Republic flag. it’s been driving me nuts trying to figure it out , i know I’ve seen it before but can’t find it on the interwebs.

• Vikavid says:

LOL, I feel the same way about your flag. It’s actually a cropped version of the NYPD flag.

• Sionnach says:

It’s the flag of the Republic of Cascadia, a group that wants to form British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon into a seperate nation (through peacful means, no armed revolution).

• MrsQ: Philly Mom says:

Srsly?
I really enjoyed reading Ectopia!
Not the best literature, but a very fun idea.
I’ll be sure to visit… once the helicopter wars are over.

• Sionnach says:

Srsly.

http://cascadianow.org/

The platform is sanely centrist and in this political climate (both north and south of the boarder) many out west here feel more in common with their northern and southern neighbors than with the governments out east.

• Vikavid says:

Ok, cool. Glad to know I was on the right track when I started looking up the different provinces’ flags.

That sounds really reasonable and understandable.

• mgilsmithe says:

Incas ???

No worries, the Spanish burned all those mummies 500 years ago.

• kurisu7885 says:

Extremely sad since so much we could have learned was destroyed by greed

• SpeakerTo Animals says:

Mummies was a religious thing.

Incas/Aztecs both recent empires that killed people just like europeans did (actually the Incas were very commie like in their social control methods).

Slavery, human sacrifice, bloody conquest and then the Europeans came.

The problem with Revisionists is that they present another pack of lies supporting THEIR agenda, while at the same time denouncing the origininal histories for the same fault.

• kurisu7885 says:

People do it more so than that. Rome had a nasty collapse after Christianity was declared the “official” religion without realizing that diversity can be a great strength for a country.

11. HeinreichvonSchnitztel says:

Disappointed.
where are the Bundeswehr Chicks?

12. Dickieman says:

Heh, if you’re solidly on the left you’re thinking, “ZOMG, right-wingers!” If you’re solidly on the right you’re thinking, “ZOMG, left-wingers!”

Either way, if you truly think that party X will result in this scenario: you’re an idiot.

13. grumpyolddragon says:

looks like another Glenn Beck rally to me.

14. Dragonrider1227 says:

So… Sarah Palin DOES become president in 2013?

15. starlord says:

If you listen close, you can hear JFK’s “Ich been ein berlinner” speach.

16. RonE says:

Can’t be America 2013. These people look like they have jobs.

17. the Jenn says:

I would like to say something. I am from America. I love what this country could be. It is not in a good state right now and things do not seem like they are gong to improve in the near future. Now I am a ‘flaming liberal” but unlike the right I don’t get mad and brow beat them for being on the right. the problem I see is the government is weak and when weak governments get nervous they bring the force. Doesn’t matter which side is in power. We the people have the constitutional right to try to overthrow our government for something better and it seems that if we could get organized that could happen. So no matter who controls things if it gets bad enough the people could rise up and here comes the military. That is the true meaning behind the caption. Well that and if there is a rather large natural disaster due to the “2012 Doomsday event” it seems likely there would be martial law invoked…lol

18. Holypear says:

They’re obviously just trying to keep creepers from spawning.

19. Sloth says:

How are we ever going to succeed as a nation with all this political infighting? The U.S. is doomed, I’m moving to Canada, see you all later.

• Sionnach says:

We’re happy to have you!Don’t forget your tuque.

• SpeakerTo Animals says:

Dont let the closing door hit you on the azz.

When the Ice sheet starts growing your way dont expect to be let back in here.

• CanadaISCold... ExceptWhenIt'sNot says:

Ice sheet?
Snerk… tell me… you aren’t one of those people that sees the weather channel in Celsius and thinks it’s Fahrenheit, are you?

@Sloth Like Sionnach said… we’re happy to have you… as a bonus, we have Universal Health Care =)

20. Jake J. says:

The guy in front looks like Jim Halpert.

21. joman says:

nice, Republican Stormtroopers. Sad but true.

22. trollbot says:

Prediction, 2013 Obama will not be re-elected causing a race war due to the racist white folk not re-electing a half-black messiah.

Also 2013 sounds like a good year for Texas to secede. Fingers crossed.

• kurisu7885 says:

And then Texas declared war and gets steamrolled, then is gettign support from the US because it’s economy is too small to support itself.

• Vikavid says:

Nah, more likely that Mexico would see it as an opportunity to reclaim Texas, and that’s who they’d have to fight.

• kurisu7885 says:

And Mexico would likely succeed sadly. Doubt much would change at first though, some Texans are so full of it they think Texas is it’s own country.

• Squiggly says:

Um no, that’s not going to happen.

Oh, and I should clarify. There is a possibility that Obama will not be reelected, that part could very well happen, but as for it causing a race war? Not a chance.

And as for Texas seceding, well I would assume all the states by now know seceding is a ridiculous notion fit only for children in dire need of a nap. We all(in the states) are part of country, divided as we are on some issues, but still the same country and that’s how is should remain.
