  1. Sionnach says:

Always wondered what all the hand signals meant ;)

  2. Anniee451 says:

Between the Stormtroopers and Boba Fett I’ve definitely seen all of these. But you could always tell what they meant.

    • Anniee451 says:

Ok except for the “speak up” – that was Luke in disguise when Leia asked him if he wasn’t a little short to be a Stormtrooper.

Uh…also don’t bother me with the prequels.

      • Sionnach says:

Prequels? What do you mean prequels? There were no prequels.

        • Anniee451 says:

Good point. I’ll make sure and remember that :)

        • Default User says:

I have been eagerly awaiting the making of the prequels for quite some time. I have seen some leaked footage of them and they look awesome. I cannot wait for them to come out. *continues to live in denial, is happy there*

          • charro says:

I saw this “pod race” snippet – it looked amazing! Such great CGI. I can’t wait for it to come out! You just know that there won’t be any whiny little kids in it or aliens that make you want to stab yourself in the eye.

            • Clueless says:

Yeah I saw the pod race and part of the obligatory sex scene with whats-her-name with the long hair and this guy who looked fantastic without his shirt. I think the other person was a woman after the guy took off his shirt I didn’t see much else.

  3. Schmoe says:

…and then the cheezleaders realized there is no comedy in war

    • Angelwaits says:

I kept seeing Afghanistan as the background for these soldiers. There isn’t a lot funny about being shot at with deadly intent, or about shooting to kill others.
Or in being locked up in a Stalg, like Hogan.
Or being shot at 9 times and surviving, as later on this site.
As in even Bill Mauldin’s cartoons, which are not LOLs AIR, the humor lies in the relationships between individuals.

  4. CrystalTwylyght says:

“This is my stop” also translates to “Choo Choo”. Don’t you watch BtVS?

  5. krypto092108 says:

This is my stop actually meant Double Time, to me…

  6. charro says:

Where is the signal for “This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this is for fun”? I assume they can’t chant that while sneaking up on the enemy prostitutes.

  7. Sionnach says:

For those who are interested here’s what they really mean.

    http://www.airsoftgent.be/dbase/hands.htm

    • Clueless says:

But what did this have to do with the Prequels?

      • Sionnach says:

Prequels? What do you mean prequels? There were no prequels. Oh yeah, and Han shot first.

          • Sionnach says:

LOL! that was awesome! BTW is it me or has the omment box gotten really tiny all of a sudden?

            • danielsangeo says:

Happened to me as well. o.O

              • danielsangeo says:

But, it appears you can stretch it out by dragging the bottom right hand corner. :)

                • Sionnach says:

                  Yep, that works.

                • keshet says:

It seems to let you keep typing even after you reach the end of the line. I wonder if they did it to try to decrease the TL;DR posts.

                • Squiggly says:

I can’t do the drag thing. *repeatedly tries and fails*

                  *swiftly becomes annoyed*

I F*CKING HATE THIS CHANGE. Why do they do stupid sh!t like this, first the lag Like button, now I CAN’T SEE MY ENTIRE COMMENT BEFORE I POST WITH THIS MIDGET ASS BOX.

                  • Squiggly says:

I’m going to be more likely to make mistakes in my posts now. Not being able to see what you already have all together is going to make me repeat stuff and make grammar errors.

I CAN ONLY SEE ONE LINE AT A TIME, THIS BLOWS.

                    • keshet says:

Same here. I can’t get the box to expand either.

                    • Sionnach says:

Just clik and drag the little hatch marks in the bottom right corner and you can make it as big as you want.

                      • keshet says:

                        Not seeing any hatch marks.

                        • Sionnach says:

Right end of where you put your comment?

                        • Squiggly says:

Same as keshet, I have no hatch marks.

                        • keshet says:

Nope. They don’t exist. I get a funny looking rectangle at the end of the row when I type past the end of the line, but no hatch marks and no way to expand the box. I’m using Firefox on Mac OS.

                        • Squiggly says:

                          COMMENT BOX

Y U NO HAVE HATCH MARKS TO MAKE YOU EXPAND?

                        • Squiggly says:

I’m using FF too. And I’m not switching to another browser again.

                          *grumbles*

                        • keshet says:

I sent a message to the Cheezes about the problems I am having with the comment box. It may be something they are working on.

                        • danielsangeo says:

Posting this from Firefox, and, yes, there are no hatch marks and can’t expand from this browser. Didn’t realize it because I use Chrome generally.

                        • Sionnach says:

So just checked. I use Google Chrome on Windows PC but I also have Firefox and Explorer 8. Explorer has up down arrows but no way to expand. Firefox has no way adjusting it. I suggest down loading Chrome, a programmer friend of mine who works mostly on Mac swears by it. (plus it has a built in spell checker.)

                        • keshet says:

I can expand the box when posting with Safari, but then I have to put up with the @#%@ ads. I like my FireFox (by your name I would have thought you would too ;) ) and it has an auto spell checker too.

                        • Squiggly says:

My computer hates Chrome, I hate Chrome, not gonna happen.

                          Firefox also has a spellcheck.

                          *tempted to go on IE*

                        • Sionnach says:

I kinda dislike Firefox because I was using Sionnach Teine before Firefox was invented. When I first heard about it was when I started translating it to Gaelic.

                        • keshet says:

Don’t do it Squigs! Anything but IE!
I’m willing to give ‘em a couple of days to see if they work out the kinks.

                        • Squiggly says:

I used IE forever before last year when my boyfriend downloaded FF because he hates IE. XD

I might just go back if this doesn’t get fixed, but I’d probably only use it for commenting on PK.

                        • danielsangeo says:

                          Squiggs: Try Opera? :)

                        • danielsangeo says:

Crud. Opera doesn’t show the hatch marks and can’t expand either. Just provides the scroll arrows. :P

                    • I Like Peanut Butter but not Obama says:

I think Mega-sock did it so that our posts are full of grammatical errors to hide his post filled with factual errors.

                      • Anniee451 says:

It’s wreaking havoc with my compound sentence structure, I’ll tell you that. I already tend to run-on sentences; how can I possibly make sure they make any sense if I can’t see them in context? Context is essential to me.

                      • AndTylerToo says:

Sorry, no. I find stupid changes like this usually caused by dim programmers/scripters who dont actually use (test) the programs they modify and thus havent a clue when they create problems like this.

As for one line — its perfect for the leftbots here whos majority of postings here are single line spews.

                        • kurisu7885 says:

You say that like your posts are worth any more effort than that.

                        • yawnsatlackwitz says:

But they are. I cheerfully bring a broad range of anusing revilements and hilariously apt insults on the leftaard useful idiots here with me every time I post.

Flukeworn you are, flukeworm you remain by your own will.

                        • kurisu7885 says:

Righty loves slinging insults and not actually trying to add anything of worth.

treat others as you want to be treated, little boy.

                        • treadcarefullythereboy says:

If you take insult every time I say what you and the other leftbots say is BS and part of a floatilla of dishonesty and/or delusion, that is your problem.

                        • Cyber_Controller says:

                          Wait?

So we have to take responsibility for our reactions when you insult us?

                  • Anniee451 says:

Oh good, I thought it was just me. This box blows. They must want us to keep it short. Han shot first, but that’s only because…well I really hate to do this to you but…it’s #3. If you can bear the first two (which aren’t much prettier) you’ll see – http://www.cracked.com/article_19001_17-images-that-will-ruin-your-childhood.html

                  • Anniee451 says:

No, not IE. Has to be firefox, with or without the effing drag option. I don’t care if IE does have tabbed browsing now; they can never win me back ! Hmph.

                    • kurisu7885 says:

Same here. first thing I did get i got this PC was install Mozilla.

                      • danielsangeo says:

I used Firefox for a good long while until they started turning it into a memory hog. I switched to Chrome. I wish they’d fix that problem in FF because I want to go back.

                        • Cyber_Controller says:

I used IE for the longest time before switching to Firefox.

What do you mean by Firefox being a memory hog?

                        • danielsangeo says:

The longer I have FF open, the more available memory it begins taking from my computer. It seems that I’m not the only one that has that problem. There seems to be a leak or something that hasn’t been fixed in any of the most recent releases.

Soon, Firefox begins causing my HD to thrash wildly and I can’t even shut it down without going to Task Manager and killing it there.

                        • Cyber_Controller says:

I’ve had that problem a couple of times.

But that’s not important. What do you mean by Firefox causing memory problems?

                        • danielsangeo says:

                          FFFFUUUUUU–

                        • Cyber_Controller says:

                          :)

                        • Paws4thot says:

I’ve heard that Firefox has a memory leak a couple of times now, but the other guy I’ve heard it from is a MickeySh@ft fanboy.

                      • Vikavid says:

That’s the first thing I did with my PC and my laptop (when I had one). The second thing I did was uninstall Norton (completely got rid of it) and installed avast! anti-virus. Sped up the puter, and best of all, free updates.

                        • Cyber_Controller says:

                          How much does avast cost?

Cause I’m flying without a virus protection program right now…

                        • danielsangeo says:

I’m using avast! and the one I’m using is free.

                        • Squiggly says:

Like daniel said here’s a free version of avast! you can download. It’s what I have, it seems work very well, I’ve yet to encounter a problem with it.

                        • Vikavid says:

I only know of the free version, I refuse to pay for something like that.

Same with my ad-aware and spy doctor.

    • Angelwaits says:

Found all of these interesting. The hand signals are pretty much common sense or in common use, like “get down” or “listen.”
      Thanks for the link(s).

  8. keshet says:

I think I would get confused because “something is wrong with my gun…again” and “my battery died” are too similar.

    • Sionnach says:

My problem would be if I saw the “I can’t reach this pocket (assistance requested” signal I would think the guy just dropped a nasty fart and would back away and leave him there.

  9. nic says:

Wedding party spotted. Warm it all up! EVERYTHING YOU’VE GOT!

  10. keithybabes says:

Cheezburger, why U change comment box? Stop it now!

    • viking gal says:

Agreed! Micro-commentbox might be OK for folks who have nothing to say, but not for the rest of us. Help, please?

  11. AndTylerToo says:

And whats the hand sign for “There is a Leftist reporter standing with the enemy” ????

    • kurisu7885 says:

Probably the same as if there was a rightist standing with the enemy.

      • yawnsatlackwitz says:

Yes, let us know when you ever see a rightwing reporter standing with AMERICA’S Enemies (notice Ive left out people YOU lefties consider YOUR enemies ).

          • dodecahedron says:

            Not exactly a warzone.

No American troops in sight facing the ‘enemy’.

Sorry, your comment in non sequitur

            • danielsangeo says:

Wait…now it has to be in a “warzone”?

              • kurisu7885 says:

Righty loves moving the goal post.

Sorry if I’m being a bit weird, just following that golden rule the sock loves to ignore.

              • treadcarefullythereboy says:

Why else would we have soldiers somewhere in full wargear with loaded guns giving handsignals??

Yes thats the context where soldiers would see a lefty ‘journalist’ standing with their enemies.

Interviewing the Lil Hitler of Iran isnt exactly that situation.

But then maybe you just dont know much about America solders except that you just dont like them ???

                • kurisu7885 says:

Where the hell did he ever, even once, say he doesn’t like American soldiers?

And why do I get the feeling you would just love it if they shot every journalist out there just in case they might be left leaning?

                • danielsangeo says:

You said that a right-winger would never “standing with the enemy” so when I pulled out Fox News interviewing Ahmadinejad, then you had to rush to spin it a different way.

Also, which “leftist reporter” ever “stood with” anyone that is an enemy of America?

Please list their name(s) and which “enemy” and when.

        • kurisu7885 says:

I never declared anyone my enemy, you declared yourself the enemy of anyone who isn’t on the right.

Not saying I’m on the left, just that I’m not on your side.

          Also, righty loves projection.

    • Cyber_Controller says:

      Yay! Projecting time!

So by ‘enemy’ you mean terrorists, which you your mind means ‘anyone who looks vaguely arabic’. So you’re angry at Leftist reporters trying to interview the people living in the Middle East how hate the war as much as we do!

How’s that, am I in the ballpark?

  12. diogenes says:

This has been on the strategypage website for a while already. Glad someone broke it into more manageable pieces, though.

    http://strategypage.com/humor/articles/military_jokes_20052271.asp

  13. Chrisman 007 says:

Has anyone got a link to the actual hand signals?

  14. treadcarefullythereboy says:

Whats the hand signal for ‘Should I take an order from an Inelligiable President” ???

  15. Hello I'm yellow says:

    I like turtles
