  1. Geary says:

“That Anthony Wiener is despicable! Nothing like the paragon that is Newt Gingrich!”

    • I Like Peanut Butter Is Back ..... Again... Maybe says:

At least Newt apologized and resigned. Weiner had to be fired. Big difference between Republicans and Democrats in this arena. Both do it, only one does the “honorable” thing afterwards. And yes I think someone caught lying and cheating on their spouse shouldn’t be in office; why? If they lie and cheat to someone they “love” wtf will they do to me?

      • imnotreallyhere says:

        Craig Thomas

      • Geary says:

Actually, Weiner apologized and resigned, while Newt was censured.

        • itsybit says:

If Wiener had just had an affair I think he would have been forgiven. The problem is that photos of his privates were sent out and he is now a laughing stock, especially since he had made such a big deal about his name. You know the bigger they are the harder they fall! He can never live it down. Also, I don’t think Newt is going anywhere politically.

          • Geary says:

Wiener never really took himself seriously in the first place, if you’ve seen his speech at the White House Corespondent’s Dinner, and if you think that the sensationalist media we live with wouldn’t have used his name for cracking joke…

Besides, he never actually had an affair, at least from my view. There’s only intimacy over the internet between people who know each over very well and care very much about each other. I don’t think pictures of one’s junk qualifies for either.

            • itsybit says:

You can’t ever be taken seriously again if the public has naked pictures of you. It’s never been done and I don’t think he has the humility to pull it off. No one would ever be able to stop snickering to take him seriously. There are no pictures of Newts affair but if there were I’m sure he would be history. But then no one would probably want to look at them… No, Wiener effed himself. What’s so funny is the shear nerve he had to do something like that and think he would never be caught.

      • Teal Deer says:

newt steadfastly refused to apologize — he was forced out. and it had nothing to do with his affairs, that was not why he was censured. he was misusing his contacts to power-broker, which he was well-known for doing. even on that issue, he refused to admit that he’d done anythign wrong. just like now.

weiner tried to insist that since he hadn’t actually cheated on his wife, the issue was less serious and would not require him stepping down — that he could in fact continue to do his job despite the scandal. given that he seemed compulsive, it took him a little while to admit that he needed help and treatment. once he was convinced of that fact, he stepped down immediately, but it was longer than many were comfortable with — though many people in his district went on record offering their support to him and implying he might be reelectable in the future.

mark foley, who was instigating sexual relations with underage boys, also refused to admit that he’d done anything wrong right up until the FBI was scheduled to release the information to the public. in this case, it was only not a full out sex crime due to techniclities — difficult (but not impossible) to trace communications, lapse of the statute of limitations, etc. he essentially admitted to all the charges in his resignation, after he knew he could not be charged criminally for them.

        • Whatever says:

Newt wasn’t forced out. The attempts to try to force him out were unsuccessful and he resigned on his own after he won reelection.

        • itsybit says:

Wiener lied about the photos being him, he lied and tried to blame it on someone else.

          • Geary says:

In that he claimed it was ‘someone else,’ he didn’t blame anyone specifically. Plus he apology seems genuine, since we haven’t heard of him doing it again.

            • itsybit says:

Of course it “seemed” genuine! He’s a politician. He probably practices in the mirror while he’s looking at his physique. I thought he blamed the guy that broke the story specifically… I don’t remember.

  2. Nailin Palin says:

Maybe Newt can send one to all his ex-wives and mistresses.

Maybe Sen. David Vitter can send one to each of the prostitutes he’s been with over the years.

Maybe Mitt Romney can send one to each of his 27 grandmothers.

Maybe Larry Craig can push one through the glory hole at the Minneapolis Airport Men’s Room.

  3. These are hilarious, but not necessarily in the way they were intended.

  4. Archer says:

    These are cute.
What Obama is doing to the country and the Constitution is far from funny, however. The latter is merely as arrogant idiot.

    • Geary says:

…The constitution is ‘as arrogant idiot’?

      • Nailin Palin says:

I see Archer is as coherent as usual.

      • Archer says:

        Lol wut?

So respecting and obeying the Constitution is being an arrogant idiot to you? Or do you mean someone who thinks politicians should do that are arrogant idiots?

        • Geary says:

No, you said, and I quote, “What Obama is doing to the country and the Constitution is far from funny, however. The latter is merely as arrogant idiot.” The context means the ocnstitution is arrogant.

          • Archer says:

            I see.
The latter, since there were 2 liberals pictured.

            • Nailin Palin says:

              The latter wut?

            • Geary says:

No, only Anthony is liberal, Obama is somewhere between center-left and center-right.

              • Archer says:

Obama is a liberal, leftists marxist. Wiener is no different

                • Geary says:

                  Citation Needed.

Also, ‘leftists marxist’ is grammatically incorrect, since it’s an improper plural description of a single person.

                  • Nailin Palin says:

And only a delusional teabagger believes that moderate Obama is a marxist. That just shows how fascistic many teabaggers really are.

                  • Teal Deer says:

archer is a delusional far-right conspiracy theorist who takes his opinion from people whose livelihood comes from sensationalism and lies, so it’s not surprising.

also, the latter would be obama, since he was the second picture. what he meant was “the first one is just an arrogant idiot.” and he’s right — weiner is an arrogant idiot. but the man was also such a huge disappointment because he was willing to call those obnoxious lie-promoters on their journalistic missteps consistently and fairly, only to be a huge tool in his personal life.

as far as obama’s liberalism, leftism, or marxism — or even his “respecting and obeying the Constitution” being in question — that certainly is the opinion one would have, if starting off looking at the mess of our political arguments with a clearly-defined sense that one side is always wrong, and the other side will never lie to you. it doesn’t make it right, or even half-intelligent to stop there, neglecting things like the interpretive nature of the written word (which is at the core of our legal system) or even the actual meanings of words that biased pundits spam until their consumers start repeating it.

he is actually too conservative for many liberals, and some moderates. that doesn’t mean that he is a radical, but isntead that we suffered during eight radical rightist years beforehand, and were hoping that he’d be able to bring us to a sense of sanity and normality.

                    • crazyalwayswins says:

So Archer, how are things in the land of paranoid delusions today?

                      • Archer says:

                        lol wut?

I merely call em as I see them.

                        • Nailin Palin says:

The DTs aren’t doing you any favors.

                        • Teal Deer says:

that’s the problem — you see them in ways severely detached form reality or reaonability, tinted with some pretty strong (and occasionally proveably incorrect) biases. moreover, you’re so solid in the belief in your own rightness and the rightness of your “side” that you don’t for a moment question your sources or logic.

                • InGen Corp. says:

Nice work not knowing what “Marxist” actually means. It’s almost like you think it’s just a general term for anybody you don’t like…

        • RS says:

          Not sure if trolling…

    • Teal Deer says:

i also wonder what you think “Obama is doing to the country and the Constitution” that separates him from bush’s eight years of sabotaging our economy and trampling over the law.

i just saw a report stating that our economy is, by and large, exactly where it was just before the election. that means that we were in such trouble 3 1/2 years ago that it took this long to repair it without a relapse. pretty sure that speaks to the massive systematic damage done by eight years of gop policy (starting with their abuse of their control over 2 branches of government, unlike the mild indecision of the dems’ similar position).

  5. Nailin Palin says:

    “An,” not “as.”

    Coherent, as always.

  6. itsybit says:

Poor Anthony Wiener… His career finished so, how should I put it… prematurely! Bwahahaha!

  7. Mike says:

So this is the classic PK troll battle – Archer vs. Nalin Palin. I gotta go with Nalin since he/she is liberal like me.

    • *slow sad headshake*
Mike, Mike, Mike, just because someone is on “your side” doesn’t mean you have to root for them. If you’re going to root for Nailin at least do so because he is honest and admits to being a tr0ll and is on occasion amusing.

    • imnotreallyhere says:

In point of fact, that’s itsybit. And you need more than one salvo from each side for a battle, and one’s all you get from Nailin.

    • InGen Corp. says:

You know, Mike, your views are much too polar for my taste – it’s unbearable, really.

    • Clueless the amazing dictator of PK says:

Um…no, this is not a classic PK troll battle. We have less than 50 posts at this point.

  8. lurker says:

i bet archer loves chuck asay and fox news. sounds like the perfect man for “the base.”
