Two people have been killed in an apparent bomb blast that tore through the Prime Minister’s building in Oslo, Norway. Soon after, a man dressed as a policeman opened fire at a site on the island of Utøya, where the Labor Party’s annual gathering is underway. Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg has reportedly called the situation, “very serious.” He was away from his office during the explosion, but was scheduled to make a speech in Utøya on Saturday. Norway is a member of NATO with troops stationed in Afghanistan, and has been threatened by al-Qaeda in the past. However it is still too early to draw any conclusions as to who is responsible for the attacks.
