And now for some news from The True North. Senate Page Brigette DePape was fired from her position after she silently protested Stephen Harper’s conservative government during today’s Speech from the Throne. The 21-year-old walked to the middle of the room and held a stop sign that read “STOP HARPER!” in full view of Harper himself and other bigwigs for about 20 seconds before being escorted away. Pretty bold move in a world where the extent of most 21-year-old’s dissent is now limited to joining Facebook groups and Retweeting.
