Thirteen people were killed across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas today as extreme weather continues to batter the midwest. This comes after a tornado tore through Joplin, Mo., leaving 125 people dead and 1,500 missing. Despite this, people continue to approach dangerously close to the storms and take footage such as this video of a twister touching down in Chickasha, Okla. As a blogger I say thank you, as a human being I say STOP THAT.
Judging from the completely empty parking lots, yesterday in Tuscaloosa, AL was not a good day for strip malls. Come on Alabama, if Washingtonians stayed home because of a little rain nobody’d eve–OH. According to the Washington Post, tornadoes in the south have claimed 250 lives over six states so far, making it the deadliest tornado system in 40 years.
Here at PK, sometimes we like to laugh and sometimes we like to scare you. You know, whichever way the wind blows (*forehead smack*)
Tornadoes are one of the Earth’s mightiest natural disasters, completely indiscriminate in the destruction they wreak upon our communities. Sometimes they’re total jerks too.
